We are pleased to share impressions from the second Conference on industrial and technical heritage, organized by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Pancevo. This Conference was dedicated to railway traffic in Serbia and celebrated 170 years of the first railway in South Banat and 140 years in the whole country.

On the first day of the Conference it was organized a visit of the historic railway stations in Vršac, Jasenovo and Bela Crkva, where we learned about their importance for the development of railways in the region. During the second day, in the Apollo Hall in Pancevo, the presentations that focused on various aspects of railway heritage, including technical innovations and the cultural significance of railways were organized.

Discussions included important topics such as the preservation of railway heritage, the reactivation of abandoned railway lines, as well as strategies for the modernization of railway line towards Budapest.

We thank the Conference organizers and all participants for the valuable knowledge and inspiration that will undoubtedly be important for future engagement on railway projects!
