Acoustic zoning of Belgrade

Acoustic zoning in the territory of the city of Belgrade was performed in compliance with the Environmental Noise Law (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No. 96/21), Rulebook on acoustic zoning methodology (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No. 72/10) and Regulation of noise indicators, limit values, methods for evaluation of noise indicators, harassment and harmful effects of environmental noise (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No. 75/10) in order to determine maximum allowable noise levels in the territory of the city of Belgrade and undertake measures for reducing environmental noise levels. Acoustic zoning means determination of noise indicator limit values for different areas according to their use. The acoustic zoning in the territory of the city of Belgrade was performed based on the current utilization of space and its planned utilization.
The acoustic zoning in the territory of the city of Belgrade was performed based on the current utilization of space and its planned utilization. Zoning was performed on the basis of all General regulation plans for the building area of the local self-government seat, units I – XX in the total area of 56,547 ha where 1,352,248 permanent residents live, which is 81.5% of total Belgrade population. The zoning process has included collection and analysis of planning documents, traffic data collection, population data collection, detection of local quiet zones, records of sensitive facilities and provision of measures and recommendations to reduce negative noise impacts. For the zoning purposes, target measurements of community noise levels were made at 35 measurement points by accredited methods: SRPS ISO 1996-1 and SRPS ISO 1996-2.
