Following the continuous development of the railway sector in the Republic of Serbia, on June 16 and 17, 2026, an Expert conference on the development of railways in Southeast Europe was held in Belgrade, organized by UIC (International Union of Railways), SEESARI (South East Europe Strategic Alliance for Rail Innovation) and the Institute of Transportation CIP.
The Conference is an important platform for the exchange of professional experiences and the exploration of the future development directions of the railway sector, as well as the presentation of development strategies and tools for its achievement, and a significant opportunity for the exchange of experiences and best international practices.
This professional event provided the conditions for strengthening the strategic dialogue on the future of the railway system in the region and encouraging cooperation between states, infrastructure managers, operators, industry and research institutions. Approximately 100 experts of various profiles took part in the conference.
